Project No.8: Ganeshotsav 2012-Police Mitra




On the 10th Day of Ganesh Festival during the Visarjan processions, leaving all enjoyment aside, Action for Pune Development (APD) decided to work 24 hours for the city. APD along with Rotary Club of Pune East worked for the REMA Project(Rotary Emergency Medical Assistance). The Project was carried out by Rotary Club of Pune East, Action for Pune Development, Columbus Ambulance Service, Universal Health Foundation, traffic department and several hospitals.

APD was a part of the Ambulance Team and each member worked for 24Hours dedicatedly. Every Member was given a Ambulance Team ID Card, Police Mitra Tshirt and Police Mitra Cap.


It was seen that the activity was carried out with discipline and no member misused his position.

The briefing was done at SP college and Ambulances were parked at Sahitya Parishad, SP College, Hirabaug Chowk, Khadak police chowki, Dr Kotnis Clinic (Gadikhana), NMV High School, Sonya Maruti Chowk, Shanipar, Shaniwar Peth police chowki, Narayan Peth police chowki, Kasba Peth police chowki, Jhansi ki Rani School at Shanipar. Doctors were stationed at every ambulance.
